Cotton Avenue Plaza

Completed in 2023, the revitalization of Cotton Avenue Plaza turned a historic corridor into a flexible, modern public space. Today, it serves as a model for how small-scale design interventions can create lasting civic impact—supporting walkability, economic activity, and moments of everyday joy.

Bicentennial Park

Bicentennial Park will serve as East Macon’s new gateway to the Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park. This investment not only celebrates 200 years of Macon’s history but also honors the cultural legacy of Indigenous communities—creating a meaningful space for both storytelling and gathering.

Our Story
“RCC is not just a project—it’s a philosophy of shared stewardship, and connection.”
We believe that great public spaces make great communities. At RCC Macon, we’re working alongside neighbors to reimagine what’s possible when we invest in shared spaces that connect, heal, and uplift. Just like roads and schools, parks and public spaces are essential civic infrastructure. They are where we express ideas, build relationships, and celebrate culture. But too often, access to these spaces is unequal. RCC Macon is part of a national movement to change that by transforming public places into vibrant, welcoming, and civic commons. Since 2018, Macon has been one of 10 cities in the Reimagining the Civic Commons network. Here, our work centers on three focus areas—Downtown, Pleasant Hill, and East Macon—where we’re co-creating spaces that reflect the stories, needs, and visions of the people who live there. Through collaboration with residents, nonprofits, artists, small businesses, and city agencies, we’re reshaping what belonging looks like in the public realm.
